Hi, I’m Mary,

Photographer, follower of Christ, wife, mama, and all around creative. I love art, literature, the natural world, and obsessing over details.

I serve the Olympic Peninsula where I grew up. It’s no wonder PNW landscapes are my favorite backdrop for my work today. From the rainy beaches to the towering old growth, I’m always looking for places that are wild and beautiful.

My love of art is what spurred my love for photography. Before I ever picked up a camera, there were marker drawings and poorly punctuated poems in composition notebooks. Over the years my creative style evolved and refined as I fell into painting, poetry, and studying light through a lens. Today, if I’m not working on a photography project you’ll probably find me getting in over my head with some new creative pursuit, or making rough “idea” sketches on the back of a grocery list. I truly believe all forms of art lend to each other. Whether it’s a poem, a painting, or a photograph, it’s all about translating something meaningful.

Photography is the way I capture vignettes of life (at least until I master oil painting, should only take me another 20 years). A quiet embrace, an uncut moment of laughter, the wild blur of lovers dancing. Poetry in motion. I love to lean into the intricacies of a session, the environment, the little details. Creating images with real meaning, and deep emotion. I’d love to capture your memories and turn your moments into art.
